Vintage Mexican Pottery 'Rope' Handled Pot: "Sofia 1939", this pot says "Sirbo a mi dueña" on one side and "Sofia año de 1939" on the verso.
Another piece from from my 30 year collection of Mexican pottery personalized with the names inscribed of their owners,. This quaint little feature, placing the names of the owner on pottery pieces, was not that common and for that reason it caught my attention. I have a dozen or more unique pieces like this in my collection. All from the first half of the 20th C. by my estimation.
13" tall and 8.5" across. This piece has a hairline crack but being both personalized and dated as early as 1939 I feel it is worthy part of my 30 year collection of Mexican pottery.
