There is an area of ´splash´stain on the front, I´m sure that with the proper solvent this will come off. The painting is oil on board.. Very stable for cleaning the spot. This is a really well done artwork from an artist who is just making his debut in the art world.. Here is a bit of a bio on him from Ask Art: A teacher, painter and specialist in printmaking, Elbert Eastmond was born in American Fork, Utah in 1876. In 1901, he enrolled in the Art Institute of Chicago, and by the next year was in New York City studying at Pratt Institute. From 1903 to 1904, he was at Stanford University in California as a student of John Lemos. In 1905, he went to Europe and stayed until the beginning of World War I. In 1912, he taught at the California College of Arts and Crafts and then transferred to the Art Department at Berkeley. During this period, he also traveled back to Utah, and then in the early 1920s, studied at the University of Washington. His art reputation grew, especially in Utah for pageant productions, scenery design, and printmaking. In 1921, he became Chair of the Department of Art at Brigham Young University in Provo and served in that position for fifteen years, until his death in 1936.
